We know that choosing a childcare provider for your child is an incredibly personal and emotive decision for any parent; there are several factors to take into account. We are very happy to have a chat on the phone to find out what is important to you and your child, and we will also be happy to answer any of your questions. Of course, we always recommend that parents come to visit us. In order to answer some potential immediate questions that you might have, we’ve created an FAQs here:
We’re offering a truly unique farm-based environment filled with a whole host of encounters and adventures to create nature-based experiences for children in their formative early years.
There will be free flow access to the day nursery’s garden plus daily visits to the farm to see animals and to learn about field to fork food cycles as well as how to care for our furry friends.
As many of us have realised over the recent months, access to the great outdoors has a significant effect on our wellbeing. A large number of studies show that children who play outside are smarter, happier, more attentive, and less anxious than kids who spend more time indoors.
Godstone Farm day nursery & pre-school is also a practical choice for many parents due to its close location to several major transport routes such as the M23, M25 and several A roads in close proximity to aid pick-up and drop-off for working parents, and close to several local towns for parents who may be working at home now.
The core values of Kidsplay Childcare are:
Welcoming: Our caring approach ensures that we all value ourselves and our community
Inspiring: We spark a belief that our children can achieve their potential
Quality: We are dedicated to providing high standards with endless possibilities
Nature: We provide opportunities to discover, take risks and explore the natural world.
The day nursery will have babies from 6 weeks old.
We follow the early years guidelines in terms of child to carer ratios. On a day to day basis, numbers will vary according to the number of sessions that each child attends.
There will be four aged-based rooms comprising a baby room, pre-toddler room, toddler room and a pre-school room. Overall the purpose-built day nursery will be 396 sq. mt, set within Godstone Farm’s 45 acres of countryside.
With such an emphasis on hands-on fun and nature-based learning, we will have a small-world role play area with natural props (e.g. fresh fruit and veg instead of plastic toys), messy play with spices and natural ingredients, mud kitchens, a day nursery garden and book corner.
As you can imagine, we have a wealth of experience in health and safety as a family farm, therefore we will employ many of the enhanced cleaning protocols that we have introduced in recent months to mitigate the risks. We will of course be following the latest public health guidance and have made detailed scenario plans for a range of circumstances.
The day nursery will offer full catered menu plans which can be adapted for all types of dietary requirements. As you would expect from a farm-based nursery, our focus is on fresh, wholesome and nutritious food with a clear provenance. Children can enjoy a hot lunch each day and high tea for dinner, on top of breakfast and snacks throughout the day.
Yes nappies are provided as part of the fees.
The day nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm five days a week. Children are required to attend a minimum of two half-day sessions per week – we find that this is the minimum consistency to ensure children feel settled.
The day nursery is open 52 weeks a year – we are only closed for bank holidays.
Pricing is due to be finalised, but we intend for it to be in line with the local authority guidelines. The nature-based experiences that we offer from our unique farm setting will not affect prices and we will be competitively priced against other local providers.
Yes, we plan to offer funded sessions, we will need to check your eligibility.

Plans are yet to be finalised, but we intend to offer perks for families whose children attend the day nursery and pre-school.
