How does the funding work?

Government funding provides eligible families with up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year. Rather than limiting this funding to term time, we stretch total annual funded entitlement across 51 weeks, helping families access funded childcare throughout most of the year. This means if you’re eligible for 30 hours of funding, this is stretched across the year to 22 hours per week. Families receiving 15 hours of funding, this works out to 11 hours per week, which usually covers one full day or two half days. Funding can be used for full-day or half-day sessions.

Funding can be used towards either full-day or half-day sessions. Government funding allows us to claim for a maximum of 10 funded hours per day, between 8am and 6pm. Any remaining funded hours can be used towards another eligible session where applicable; however, unused hours cannot be accrued, saved or swapped and will be lost.

Yes, we’re open all year round, but we do close on public bank holidays, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

If Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve falls on a weekday, we close at 4:00pm to allow our team time with their families. Please note that full fees still apply for these days.

Yes, if your child normally attends on that day, the session will still be fully chargeable.

If your child is unwell, we ask families to consider whether they are well enough to attend. For example, if your child has required Calpol regularly to control a temperature over the last 24 hours (especially overnight or in the morning), we recommend keeping them home until their temperature is stable without medication.

In the case of sickness or diarrhoea, your child must remain at home for 48 hours after the last episode.

If your child is prescribed antibiotics, they must stay home for at least 24 hours from the first dose to monitor for allergic reactions. We’re able to administer prescribed medication, provided it’s brought in with the original box and prescription label.

We require four weeks’ notice if you’re leaving the nursery or making any permanent changes to your child’s sessions. This allows us to manage our monthly invoicing and maintain smooth transitions for families and staff.

We don’t allow regular session swaps. However, additional (ad hoc) sessions can be booked depending on availability in your child’s room.

Yes, all scheduled sessions remain fully chargeable, even if your child is away on holiday.
